Asset Management & Technology
I started on the tools as a heavy duty apprentice mechanic and spent the next 22 years working across Australia and Africa, from workshop floors to senior leadership. Along the way I developed a serious interest in data and software as a force multiplier for operational performance. Now I build both.

Background
My career in mining spans two decades, beginning on the tools as a heavy duty mechanic and evolving into senior leadership roles across maintenance, asset management, and business transformation. That progression, from trade through to leading a global consulting portfolios, has shaped a leadership style grounded in operational credibility, commercial awareness, and systems thinking.
I have led teams and transformation initiatives across Australia and Africa, with accountability spanning safety, performance, financial outcomes, and stakeholder alignment. My focus has consistently been on building high-performing teams and aligning people, processes, and technology to deliver measurable business outcomes; connecting strategy to execution in environments where both technical depth and commercial clarity matter.
I have lead the development of data and technology capability at scale, enterprise SAP transformation, modern analytics platforms on Snowflake and Power BI, and predictive maintenance systems built on anomaly detection. A key part of my role is translating deep operational experience into scalable systems and insights that empower leaders to act with confidence, not just react to data.
Outside of work I build applications and explore system design, driven by a genuine interest in solving real-world problems through software. Away from the screen, I've spent around six years coaching junior sport, teeball, netball, and basketball, and served on the Cancer Council WA Research Grant Advisory Steering Committee, a cause that remains personally important to me.

Career
Fortescue, Perth, Western Australia
Fortescue operates at massive scale, and so do the teams I lead. Across multiple senior roles I've carried full budget and HR accountability for high-performing teams spanning maintenance engineering, data analytics, and product development — while simultaneously driving some of the company's most significant maintenance system and process transformations. My focus has been building the capability, culture, and systems that allow Fortescue's maintenance operation to perform, continuously improve, and get smarter over time.
Calsta Pty Ltd, Perth, Western Australia
Ran a consulting practice specialising in asset management, maintenance strategy, and reliability improvement across some of the world's more demanding mining environments. Engagements ranged from multi-year programs in Western Australia to on-the-ground assignments in West and Central Africa, including stepping into a Maintenance Manager role overseeing heavy mining equipment in Mali and a Reliability Superintendent position at BHP's Mt Keith and Leinster operations. Every engagement was different; the fundamentals were always the same.
Ertech Pty Ltd, Wheatbelt, Western Australia
Supervised maintenance of heavy civil construction equipment across regional Western Australia, with accountability for fleet availability, scheduling, and safe working practice.
Emeco Group, Goldfields, Western Australia
Managed a workshop team maintaining a heavy equipment rental fleet for Goldfields mining operations — responsible for scheduling, quality, cost control, and a team of tradespeople across a demanding operational environment.
First Quantum Minerals Ltd, Zambia, Central Africa
First posting outside Australia. Supervised maintenance of a heavy mining fleet in Zambia — a steep learning curve in international operations, remote parts logistics, and leading teams across cultural and language barriers.
Mader Contracting, Pilbara, Western Australia
Field service maintenance on heavy plant across the Pilbara — the kind of role that builds diagnostic instinct fast.
Westrac Equipment Pty Ltd, Perth, Western Australia
Where it started. Four years learning the Caterpillar product range from the inside out, through the Perth component rebuild centres and on-site at Port Hedland and Telfer mine.

Coached junior teeball, netball, and basketball across roughly six years of community sport. Working with kids at that age is a good reminder of what patient, encouraging leadership actually looks like.
